Testing the Pythagorean Theorem. Let $a$, $b$ and $c$ be the length of three edges of a right triangle, and $c$ for the length of the hypotenuse. Then, we have $$ a^2+b^2=c^2. $$
$$ \frac{\partial L}{\partial \boldsymbol{r}}=\frac{e}{c}(\boldsymbol{v} \cdot \nabla) \boldsymbol{A}+ \frac{e}{c}\boldsymbol{v} \times \text{rot} \boldsymbol{A} -e \cdot \text{grad} \varphi $$
